Movie Reviews: Batman Bad Blood, Justice League vs Teen Titans, The Lion Guard

BATMAN BAD BLOOD

Synopsis:
Bruce Wayne is missing.
Alfred covers for him while Nightwing and Robin
patrol Gotham City in his stead.
And a new player, Batwoman, investigates Batman's disappearance.

Martha's Thoughts:
This was a very entertaining addition to the DC animated movie series. With Nightwing and Robin pairing up and trying to fill Batman's shoes then discovering Batwoman who is kind of a loose cannon. They take on many enemies trying to find out what happened to Batman and what they do now that he is gone. Definitely worth seeing.

JUSTICE LEAGUE VS TEEN TITANS

Synopsis:
Robin is sent to work with the Teen Titans after his volatile behavior botches up a Justice League mission. The Titans must then step up to face Trigon after he possesses the League and threatens to conquer the world.

Martha's Thoughts: I love the whole premise of this movie. Robin is defiant so they send him to train and he becomes a member of the Teen Titans... while Robin is in one place the Justice League are being taken over by a mysterious force. Suddenly, the Titans must take on the League to restore order.
Very well made.

The Lion Guard

Synopsis: Set in the African Savanna, the film follows Kion as he assembles the members of the 'Lion Guard'. Throughout the film, the diverse team of young animals will learn how to utilize each of their unique abilities to solve problems and accomplish tasks to maintain balance within the Circle of Life, while also introducing viewers to the vast array of animals that populate the prodigious African landscape.

Martha's Thoughts:
A good positive message about the uniqueness of individuals, finding your inner powers/strength, and teamwork. The Lion Guard is a short but very cute sequel to The Lion King. I enjoyed it, it seemed a bit short kind of Saturday Morning Cartoon long episode short... but hey Disney cashes in again with another direct to video sequel. Hardly any of the original cast is back ... but the animation is mostly the same. Very good for a straight to dvd... but still, come on Disney.

3/5
